The Most Giant Ethical Elephant in the Room

Since the perpetrators of the common evil of institutionalized violence, aggression, coercion, and parasitism (politicians, bureaucrats, etc.) are almost universally seen as the indispensable guardians of the "common good", wondering why humanity as a whole continues to teeter on the brink of moral shambles is missing the most giant ethical elephant in the room imaginable.
