Post victoriam?

If one genuinely and sincerely considers oneself to be on the good side, one should never cheer at one's perceived enemy's demise. Why? Because it betrays a lack of understanding of the perceived enemy's motives. If such an understanding were in place, one would probably pity the other side for its misguided and baneful beliefs, or at least remain composed, lest one become like the other side - rejoicing in destruction and encouraging revenge. And if such an understanding is absent, one can only treat the symptoms while worsening the disease. And finally, one can never be sure which side did it really originate on.
