Perhaps the greatest intellectual feature of libertarianism is that it makes one independent of any ideological collective, including any self-proclaimed libertarian collective. The result is not intellectual isolation, but intellectual liberation, and with it comes the kind of rational serenity that only consistent individualism can offer.
